The Service

Ramble lets you capture spoken Rambles, transcribe them, and tidy them for readability (including punctuation and removal of ums and false starts) without rewriting your meaning. Rambles sync between the mobile app and the web. Features may change as we improve the product.

Eligibility and account

• You must be old enough to consent to these terms in your country and provide accurate account information.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity on your account.
• Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Ramble for anything illegal, harmful, or that infringes others’ rights;
• Record people without permission where law or reasonable expectation of privacy requires consent;
• Attempt to break, overload, or reverse engineer the Service or its APIs;
• Share account credentials or resell access without our permission;
• Upload malware or use automated scraping except as we explicitly allow.

Your content

You retain ownership of what you say and write in Ramble. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, transmit, and display your content solely to operate the Service (including transcription, tidying, sync, backup, and support). That licence ends when you delete content or your account, except for copies we must keep for legal or backup reasons for a short period.

You represent that you have the rights to the content you store in Ramble and that it does not violate these terms or applicable law.

Transcription and AI processing

Transcription and tidying rely on third-party services (including AssemblyAI and OpenAI). Nothing you send is used to train Ramble’s models; we use those services in line with their API policies. Results may be imperfect. You should review important Rambles. Ramble tidies formatting; it is not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, or financial advice.

Processing requires sending audio or text to those providers as described in our Privacy policy. Outages or limits on those services may affect Ramble.

Recording allowance and payment

Accounts may include a monthly or total allowance of transcribed audio minutes. Usage is measured from successful cloud transcription time reported to our systems. If you exceed your allowance, transcription may stop until your allowance resets or you obtain more capacity from us.

Pricing, billing, and refunds (if any) for paid plans will be described at the point of purchase on the web. Payments are processed by Stripe. The iOS app is intended for capture and reading; web checkout may apply where we offer paid plans, consistent with App Store rules.

Availability and changes

We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable. We may update these terms; the “Last updated” date will change. Material changes may require you to accept new terms or stop using the Service.

Termination

You may stop using Ramble at any time and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose risk to the Service or others. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; deletion of data is handled as described in the Privacy policy.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that transcripts or tidied text will be error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ramble and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for Ramble in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) £100, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold harmless Ramble and its operators from claims arising out of your content, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these terms or applicable law, to the extent permitted by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers in other jurisdictions may have mandatory rights under local law.
